The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim has been delayed and is now scheduled for release on December 13, 2024.
The animated film was initially set to release on April 12, 2024, but due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes in Hollywood, Warner Bros. decided to push back the release date to December 13, 2024.
This new December release date aligns with the release pattern of the previous live-action Lord of the Rings films, which were also released in December to capitalize on the holiday season.
The delay was a result of a chain reaction caused by the rescheduling of other Warner Bros. films, such as
Dune: Part Two and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, due to the unavailability of cast members during the strikes.
